Revenue enablement is often hindered by organizational silos, misalignment, and inefficiency.

Breaking down silos, fostering collaboration, and embracing structural freedom are key to achieving growth and operational excellence.

A flexible and adaptable organizational structure empowers teams to work in harmony, reduce duplicative efforts, and drive revenue growth organically.

Revenue enablement is not confined to a specific department or role; it’s a collective effort that involves the entire organization working collectively.

Private Equity is a great resource for many companies and comes with their own unique enablement challenges.

A lot is being said about AI and Large Language Models- some positive, and some fear-inducing.  I tend to look at things through the lens of sales and enablement- and the changes these past few years have been amazing.

AI is helping sales teams automate repetitive tasks and focus more on selling and revenue generating activities.

It's all over the news, another CEO who threw a fit about #remotework but refuses to look in the mirror when complaining about his #companyculture.

Remote work is not for everyone, and not for every job. But it is becoming increasingly obvious that the "old guard" are not comfortable with learning the skill of remote management for where it is a viable option.

And every executive complaint sounds like this:  "We have a great company culture, but no one wants to work because they are lazy." or "We hire the greatest talent and most capable people, but that's only if they are within the office walls."

It's been about a month since the GA deployment of ChatGPT, and it has taken the world by storm.  Not since Personal Digital Assistants in the mid-2010s has an AI been so accessible.

I asked ChatGPT how it can help with content creation, and this article includes its answer and my thoughts.

Among the myriad options for assessment and self-assessment, a few tools rise to the top- one of which is the Johari Window.

The ultimate goal of the Johari Window exercise is to become more self-aware. It can also be used to increase understanding of others in a group setting. As we start to see not only how we view ourselves, but how others view us, we can begin to be more open in our communication and preferences with each other.

Success typically comes from proper execution of a tailored strategy to achieve an agreed-on and viable vision. Most of what is done in any organization is based on this. If you look at anything you do, you should be able to tie it directly back to a vision. This could be a vision internally implemented, such as the enablement of your sales and CS teams to create great customer experiences. And this could be externally influenced, like governmental regulation to prevent fraud and discrimination.

A quick lesson I learned when managing retail bank branches in the mid 2000s.  Happy employees make happy customers, and happy customers grow the business.

In my years in L&D, Training, and Enablement, I have many leaders, groups, and even entire organizations misunderstand training and overlook ID. This article is designed to give trainers and professionals some talking points that I have used in the past that were successful in winning hearts and minds to our cause.

I am a fan of psychometric instruments and heuristic exercises. Many times, the tools are self-assessments. These serve an important function in self-awareness and self-realization but do also run a risk of being skewed towards traits that the individual feels are more important or desirable.

I prefer to give and receive insight that contain these characteristics.

By: Mike Garber (April 2018 via LinkedIn)

The other week I shared a quick update that simply read "insight should be actionable". Later that night, it came back to my mind, but felt incomplete. Because I remember best when I use a mnemonic acronym or phrase, I came up with what key points that insight should contain before I want to deliver or receive it.

IMPACT sales framework, and overcoming objections by thinking FAST

By: Mike Garber (March 2018 via LinkedIn)

In any sales organization, we are best served by adhering to a framework. While the steps to the framework become second-nature, or for some started off as “obvious”, having a set cycle helps reduce the risk of overlooking an important step, or getting ahead of yourself.

True or False: If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten.

I’ve had this quoted to me many times- in high school, in college, and in the workforce. While the correct attribution of this quote, and the words, are up for debate (I've heard it different ways and attributed as original to Einstein, Henry Ford, Tony Robbins, and others), I'm sure most of us have heard this in a lot of the meetings or classes we have attended. It is intended to push each of us out of our comfort zone.

Learning Innovations- Gamification and Role-Play

By: Mike Garber (August 2017 via LinkedIn)

I've been through many meetings, workshops, and development sessions. Some have been amazing, and others have missed the mark. Usually, when a training misses the mark, it is because there was no well-defined goal, no buy-in from participants, and/or the content was not relevant or inspiring...

Instilling Core Values In Your Team.

By: Mike Garber (October 2014 via LinkedIn)

Your employees are the true face of your company. No matter how many celebrities you pay to endorse you, or viral advertisements you create online- the experience your customers have with your employees will define what they think about you. That is why it is of the utmost importance to ensure your teams are not only performing at their best, but also reflecting your core values in each interaction.
